Weighing Scale

HISTORY
Around 2000 B.C. in the Indus River Valley (near present-day Pakistan), the earliest weighing scales were found. They had two plates on a beam fixed to a central pole. To measure, objects were placed on one plate, and stones on the other until they balanced.
